Relationship Building, Networking, and Sharing Ideas
Build relationships with museum contacts by attending monthly meetings and special networking events. Monthly meetings include programs presented by CMA members and area professionals on a wide variety of topics throughout the year.
Kiah Fund Grants
The Kiah Fund, named for Virginia Kiah, provides scholarships for CMA members to attend professional development and training opportunities. All CMA members are eligible to apply. In return, Kiah Fund recipients present at CMA meetings, sharing their experiences and new found knowledge with all of us. Download the Kiah Fund guidelines and application.
Reciprocal Admission Program
The Reciprocal Admission Program provides an opportunity for CMA members to visit member sites, allowing us to learn from each other, as well as better direct visitors to area museums. Program guidelines and participating sites
Awards of Excellence
Each year the Coastal Museums Association recognizes projects that display excellence with an awards presentation at the June membership meeting. All members in good standing are eligible. A call for award nominations is issued each January. Download the 2022 CMA Awards of Excellence Guidelines and Categories. Nominations are submitted using the 2022 CMA Awards of Excellence nomination form.
The CMA website (coastalmuseums.org) includes an online directory of member museums with links back to member websites for the public.
CMA’s listserv (email@example.com) is a networking tool available to all members to share information and ask questions.
