Not only are these shellfish delicious and nutritious —they also play a vital role in maintaining healthy coastal ecosystems by providing habitat and filtering water. DESCRIPTION:The Commemoration of the Gathering of Leaders 160 Years Ago: 20 African American Ministers Met with General Sherman and Secretary of War Edwin Stanton in Charles Green’s Home. \nAs a community free event\, the historic house will be open for viewing from 5 to 8 p.m. Docents will be on hand to answer questions. This will be a time to reflect on the occasion\, when men of faith\, led by Pastor Garrison Frazier\, were asked for direction by General WIlliam Sherman and Secretary of War Edwin Stanton as the Civil War was concluding. \n

SUMMARY:School’s Out: Behind-the-Scenes Tour
DESCRIPTION:Calling all kids\, parents\, and curious adults! Chatham County students are out of school and we’re inviting you to check out what goes on behind the scenes at the UGA Aquarium. \nSpend the morning exploring our exhibits before learning what it is like to care for our ambassador animals during tours led by aquarium staff. Participants will be able to access areas that are not typically open to the public. Animal feedings might also be part of the tour! \nRegistration is required and includes admission to the UGA Aquarium. All ages are welcome\, but children under 18 must be accompanied by a registered adult\, and strollers are not permitted in the back of the aquarium. Tickets are nonrefundable.
