DESCRIPTION:Join us at the UGA Aquarium for an Ocean to Table program focused on oysters! Not only are these shellfish delicious and nutritious —they also play a vital role in maintaining healthy coastal ecosystems by providing habitat and filtering water. During this hands-on program\, you’ll learn about oyster aquaculture research at the Shellfish Research Lab\, see live oysters up close\, and engage with experts in seafood safety and food science. You’ll even have the chance to shuck and taste local oysters\, while learning about the environmental factors that influence their flavor. The program will wrap up with a cooking demonstration and tasting of a classic oyster stew.

DESCRIPTION:Have you ever wondered how we feed the animals at the UGA Aquarium? Join us at 2 p.m. on the first and third Friday of the month to find your answer! Spend time exploring our exhibits and observing aquarium staff feeding ambassador animals. \nAll ages are welcome\, but children under 18 must be accompanied by an adult\, and strollers are not permitted in the back of the aquarium. \nFriday Feeding programs will be included with the cost of admission to the UGA Aquarium. Registration is not required.  Please note that there will be no Friday Feedings program on Friday\, Jan. 3.

DESCRIPTION:Join us for a traditional Christmas Tea on Saturday\, December 14th! Enjoy fragrant tea locally grown at Jones Creek Farm in Midway as well as a selection of homemade goodies\, then stroll the Museum with costumed guides to hear the stories of the founders of Midway. The Museum will be decorated for a festive colonial Christmas\, and its displays of period furnishings\, decorative pieces\, and art will be on display. \nOur bookstore will be open and Jones Creek Farm will be set up in front of the museum selling Georgia Grown teas and soaps.  These make perfect gifts for the upcoming holidays.  Other local artisans and artists will be set up in the front of the museum as well\, they will be announced as they sign up. If you are interested in being a vendor\, please fill out our Google Form.  A $20 vendor fee is required.  Please scroll to the bottom of this page to pay online.  Cash\, checks\, and cards are accepted at the museum. \nSeatings are at 11\, 12\, 1 & 2 pm. Tables are family style so you can meet new people! Adults are $20 and children under 18 are $15.  Tickets can be purchased online or in person at the museum in advance. No refunds will be issued.
